Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Finance Manager who is excited about driving financial transparency and control in a dynamic, international environment. This role focuses on Controlling, including financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. While our external tax advisory firm handles financial accounting, you will oversee and monitor the preparatory accounting process, ensuring completeness and accuracy. You will shape financial processes and collaborate with stakeholders in Germany and the U.S.

The position is based at our Berlin office in Germany.

Tasks

Controlling

  • You create, run, and adjust our financial model, including cash flow.
  • You lead the financial planning and forecasting process for our global business together with internal stakeholders by providing a high degree of financial transparency and insights.
  • You raise flags when you expect deviations from the plan or identify discrepancies and provide improvement suggestions.
  • You prepare reports and evaluations for the management team.
  • You handle finance-related tasks.
  • You shape finance processes and tools across the company.

Accounting

  • You manage and monitor the preparatory accounting process for accuracy and completeness.
  • You monitor and reconcile accounts and outstanding items.
  • You prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • You create reports and respond to compliance-related questions from the US headquarters to support and ensure adherence to the SOX compliance process.
  • You collaborate with tax advisors, external partners, and internal teams in the USA and Germany.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • You have at least four years of professional experience in an analytical environment such as Financial Planning and Analysis, Controlling, or Finance.
  • You bring excellent analytical skills, a passion for metrics and figures, and strong attention to detail while also understanding the big picture.
  • You are an expert in MS Excel / Google Sheets.
  • You have gained professional experience in a fast-paced environment and mastered complex, unstructured tasks with a strong sense of ownership, drive, and organizational ability.
  • You communicate clearly, factually, and persuasively with different seniority levels and use your strong stakeholder management skills to engage with internal counterparts.
  • You have fluent German language skills at the C2 level, along with excellent written and spoken English proficiency.

  • You have knowledge of financial accounting.
  • You have experience with DATEV.
  • You have experience working for a publicly traded U.S. company.
